The First Snow Of Winter

'Pssssttt!'
'Wake up'
'WAKE UP'
'What?'
'It's snowing!'

'Come and look outside, it's a winter wonderland':
'It's not that snowy'
'Yes it is. Look at my pots':
'And all the robin's in the tree'
'Very nice'
'I'm going to wake Hannah up'

Definitely enjoying the first snow today, especially after hearing about what feels like everywhere else in the country having some. It's a little cold for our favourite Greek Cypriot though:

The Beauty All Around

It's funny how, after a while, the beauty all around you just becomes ordinary, even mundane. I never thought there would be a day when I could walk into the chapel and not think 'Wow'.

Probably as recently we've been doing this:

Rather than concentrating on our singing and facing the front!

Pyjama Day

You have to once in a while.

Nothing like eating a Sunday roast in your pyjamas. Nothing at all.

Radio

Why yes we have been hitting those airwaves! Once again we were marooned onto 'Gospel Island' with only a record player and our five favourite gospel tunes to sustain us.
Slide that knob!

Escape

Sometimes you just have to run away from all the work and sitting inside and actual go out to appreciate the world we live in.
We cycled out to Virginia Water to see the last of the autumn colours.
It was just stunning, the lake clear as glass, the sun giving us the last bit of warmth left in it, the trees clutching at thier last few orange leaves.
We meant to cycle around the lake but when you find a spot like this you can't really leave; we just talked for two hours.

Family

Somehow, with my family at least, you invite 2 and end up with 10 (and a half), I guess I have too many cousins. It's lovely to see them all though, nothing makes me happier than feeding them, having the room filled with chatting and the clink of cuttlery. I like to watch them grow, see the children learn new things, watch that bump expand beyond all possibility and value the meaning they all have to me. There's nothing quite so special as family.
Boo!

Birthdays

Two friends on one day to be precise. First there were civilised cocktails:
Then a bad taste house party:
Had to go as Dan of course.
Nothing like a sing song.

Sea Shell or Fajita?

It can be hard, when one is returning freezing cold from a 9am four hour lecture on impossible stats, not to feel a little perturbed when your house mate is still in bed. Sometimes, when on has company, a little paypack involving the duvet, a dressing gown cord and an unsuspecting dozing friend might be needed:
Question is sea shell or fajita?

Cocktail Party

On Tuesday we went to a gorgeous cocktail party:
It's lovely to see everyone all dressed up. On Wednesday we went to see Blood Brothers, I howled like a baby, on Friday the future fate of the Sail and Board Club (of which I am in charge, scary stuff) was decided, afterwhich I needed a stiff drink so caught up with my old flatmate, then on Saturday the Gospel Choir spent the day in Kent singing in a charity concert, so, with deadlines as well, it was all rather hectic!

No rest for the wicked though, lab reports are calling . . .

Laundry

I should really keep on top of it.

Long Lectures

The Walk Home

Funny how the walk home can sometimes be the best bit of the night:
No traffic signals today though.

Fireworks and Funfairs

Well of course after Halloween comes Bonfire Night! It was a bit of a struggle to get there as the trains decide to be crazy but, eventually, thanks to Becky's car, we got to Richmond.
Then we all began to enjoy oursleves:
 Well, almost all.
There were some fast rides, and some not so fast:
The candyfloss was very much approved.
A jolly time was had by all.
But of course the night didn't end there. Oh no. There had to be some Cranium.
Can you guess what it is yet? Hosepipe apparently . . .
