Amelia

It seems bizarre really. It feels like only last week that there we were, just after the year 7 welcome assembly, deciding that as we were in the same form and maths group it really would be silly if we weren't friends and now, here I am looking into her daughters face.
I am really very proud of her, considering that the pregnancy was such a surprise, and that her now fiancee works abroad, she has fallen into Motherhood really very well.
So here she is, little baby Amelia:
Oof! It's a hard life being 4 weeks old!
It's also bizarre how little's changed, we still meet up for coffee (still plenty of room for cake), I still talk about Uni, she still talks about where she's applying to (yes she managed to sit her A-levels pregnant and do well!) everything ebbs and flows just as before. It's just now, there's a little gurgler sitting on a knee!
I had to show you her gorgeous flowing locks, just like her Mummy.

An Interlude for a Rodent

Not Even His Birthday

It wasn't even his birthday but he still stole all our attention away - but then again how could he not with a face like this?

Look at that hand size comparison.
He finds his Grandpop's face very funny!
Happy Birthday Mum

West Dean

West Dean Gardens are one of the best places to go in spring. Unfortunatly this time we were ever so slightly at the wrong time - the dafodils just past thier best and the lambs not quite scampering around. Still, it did look fabulous in that slightly erie mist.

This tree made me thing of that 'Percy the Park Keeper' story, where they build the big tree house for all the animals after the storm.

Field Trip

It's nice to be able to regress every so often and enjoy some of the simple pleasures in life - like a nice 'school' trip. We went to Kew Gardens, it was ever so seasonal with all the bulbs out:
The tree top walkway still paralyzes me with fear but of course, I had to go up there anway.
It was lovely to be taken round by someone who was so informed about all the different species that there were.
The wildlife was beautiful too,

 wonky tree
and some very unusual jasmine
